A Big Thank You!

I'd like to begin by saying thank you to everyone that took the time and had the sweet gesture of sending me a Happy Birthday wish. Your words mean so much more to me than you could ever imagine. For my birthday, I wanted to try something new and out of my comfort zone. I was never one to be much of a fan of the pearly, iridescent holographic nail polish. However, for my 26th birthday, I thought, "Why not?"

So, I picked a color that I found to be extremely stunning and completely unique. My choice was from Essie's Fall 2013 collection "For The Twill Of It". Talk about a shocker! I fell head over heels with it. It's gorgeous gray, teal, purple, pink iridescent shimmers are so funky you simply cannot help but to keep moving your hands in a backwards and forward motion to see all of the color patterns it comes out with. Simply irresistible.

So, I guess that's the lesson, isn't it? When you step out of your comfort zone and try something new, you might be pleasantly surprised. And with that being said, again, I thank you for your kind words!

Thank you all for reading!

My Favorite Fall Navy

Hello lovely girls! I'm so excited to be back here writing to all of you again. I hope you are as excited as I am to be back.

Fall is always such an exciting season. It's the transfer from vibrant colored and beach filled summers to snowy and merry winters. So as we make our way into the middle of autumn, I want to share with you all my very favorite navy blue to wear during this time of the year. OPI-Russian Navy is just the most beautiful shade of a cool, dark blue with just the slightest bit of irridescent shimmer of purple.

Even though these types of colrs have a reputation of being difficult to apply, I must object. It was so simple to apply. It gave me no trouble whatsoever.

I confidently state that this color is a must have in any nail polish lover;s collection.

I hope you've all enjoyed this post and thank you so much for reading!

Loving October!

Hi everyone! I am so extremely excited to write this post as it is the beginning of one of my very favorite months out of the year!  So with arms wide open I want to say, welcome October! I hope it has been great for everyone so far.

One of the colors that I've been loving for fall and this month especially is Essie - No More Film. It's such a gorgeous creamy indigo color that glides on your nail just beautifully. Pictured below, I used two coats just so it could give me a complete smooth and even coat of polish on my nails.

I strongly suggest this color for anyone that wants to try something different for this fall. You won't regret it.

I hope you've all enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!

September 11th - God Bless America

Good afternoon everyone. Although this is a blog that is made up of happy and cheerful posts, I also believe that something of this importance must also be shared. September 11th, 2001, a day that I will never forget.

Incredible that 12 years have passed since that dreadful day where America, our home, was rattled, shaken and scared down to its core. I would like to take this time to send out a prayer to those who were tragically lost and injured. To their love ones, may God grant you peace and comfort. At the same time, I want to send out a big thank you to the heroes that selflessly ran to the aid of others. Every person in Fire Department, Law Enforcement, Military, and EMS. Thank YOU!

WE WILL NEVER FORGET
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Thank you for reading everyone and may God bless you always!

Happy Friday - First Friday of September!

Hi girls! I hope everyone has had a nice week and my gosh! Can you believe that we're already in September?!? I just realized earlier this afternoon that today is the first Friday of September. I couldn't believe it! 2013 to me has really gone by so fast. It's incredible.

Anywho, I know that Fall hasn't officially begun but, I wanted to use a dark nail polish color for this weekend. I went with one of my absolute favorite dark blues ever! I used OPI - I Saw... U Saw... We Saw... Warsaw (and yes, that's the actual name). Isn't it just precious? Two coats provide you with the most perfect even coat. Another thing that this polish contains, the most stunning gloss ever. Even though, I always use my Essie - Good To Go Dry Fast Top Coat, if you wanted to use this color by itself, you could. Very pretty finish indeed. This color will be a definite part of my Fall and Winter collection this year. If you haven't tried it, definitely do. Hope you adore it as much as I do!

Bikini Season

Hi everyone! I hope that you all are doing peachy keen today as it is the start of another week. For those of you that started school recently, I'm wishing you all the best and great year ahead! I'm taking advantage and using all of my most brightest and fun colors lately and this one is one of my favorites. Although Fall Fashion is starting to pop up here and there, the summer season is not over! And besides, like the great Lilly Pulitzer stated, "It's always summer somewhere." So, cutting to the chase, I went with Essie - Bikini So Teeny today.

Such a cute and fun mix to the color blue. It's a mix of periwinkle with baby blue and has but the slightest bit of glitter. You almost cannot tell it's even there to be honest. The formula might be a little difficult to work with. However, if you apply it as evenly as you can and use two coats then you should be perfect. If not, three coats are always doable as well. Don't let summer go by without giving this polish a try, you won't regret it!

I hope you've all enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!

New Treasure

Hi girls! Happy Friday! Ah the last day of the week is finally here and I'm feeling a bit funky. Yesterday I went with a very classic color but today, I used something completely different. I chose China Glaze - Too Yacht To Handle.

As soon as my eyes caught sight of this color I went running towards it. Two words. How beautiful! What a gorgeous blend of blue and green to compliment any skin tone during the most fun season of the year! Not only is it true to the color you see in the actual bottle but it applies on so fabulously! No streaks! Can you believe it? I can honestly say that this little joyful colored polish has shot itself straight to the top of my favorites list. I'm so happy I found it! Please send us an email to: thepolishboutique@yahoo.com if you're interested in ordering this color.

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you've enjoyed this post! Talk to you soon!

A Minimalist Trend

Good morning to you all! We're nearing week's end and I hope that you are all as excited as I am for the weekend. I went decided that for this week, I wanted to go with something classic. Being that it is Thursday and there's such an enormous "Throwback Thursday" trend, I embraced it.

I went with Essie - Minimalistic. Let me say that I had forgotten how absolutely beautiful and delicate this color is. The good thing about it is that it's so functional. You can use it as a base for a french mani or, like I used it this time, as an alone color. I used two coats of it in the picture above. Make sure you leave a good amount of it on the brush so that when you apply it, it's an even coat. Cette couleur c'est très jolie! (This is a very pretty color!)

I hope you've all enjoyed this post and give this timeless classic a try. I know you will love it.

Thank you for reading & talk to you soon!

Handmade Masterpieces

Good morning lovelies! I hope that each and every one of you will have a wonderful Tuesday! We've been working extra hard on out handmade jewelry and I can't wait to share them with you all. Actually, I just realized that I've never really gone into detail with you guys about our custom bracelets. We began making jewelry at the beginning of 2012. We carefully pick out the most beautiful and perfect stones to make a masterpiece come to life. Using an arrangement of several stones, some of which include agate, jade, turquoise and wood, we ensure that each piece is unique in it's own way.

Spending an immense amount of time on each and every detail pertaining to the bracelet is our specialty. Rearranging each piece until like any good artisan, your creation comes to life. Our goal is not to just sell you yet another accessory to stack on your arm. We look to provide you with a piece of art that will be an extension of you. That will adorn you and your ensemble in the most perfect way possible. And in that pursuit, we customize every single piece that enters our studio until your desired outcome is reached.

We've sure enjoyed sharing some of our little treasures with you guys and we hope you have as well. Thank you all for reading!

Talk to you soon!

Changing It Up

Hi all! Well it seems that we have found ourselves at the beginning  of the week again so it's safe to say. "Let's hope for a good one!"

Over the weekend, we went out to celebrate a friend's birthday on Saturday night and I decided to go ahead and change up my color routine. I wanted to go with something a little more dramatic. A little more... "drastic". With help from my sister, the decision was a simple one, China Glaze - Drastic. Although I take full advantage of the summer season to use all of my brightest and most vivid colors, I wanted to do something different. It just felt right.

This has to be by far one of my favorite deep reds ever. It's so beautiful. It is a tad bit deceiving though. When you look at it in the bottle, it does appear to be darker than how it actually applies on your nails. But, regardless of the fact, it's still gorgeous.

I used two coats of polish and it was perfect. It was streak-less and developed an even more stunning hue of red after each stroke of polish.

I hope you've all enjoyed this post and go ahead and give this color a try.

Orange Crush

Hi girls! So I was fighting the urge to get on here again and publish another post today but I just couldn't! I just got done using this nail polish and I completely forgot how beautiful it was! Has that ever happened to you? You use one color, then don't use it again for quite some time. As soon as you start to dawdle in front of your nail polish collection, you see that one polish.

"Hmm, which color is this? Oh yeah, I remember you. I don't even remember what it looks like on. Let me try it on. Oh my! It's beautiful! Found my color!"

Sound familiar? Heh, yeah I know how it feels.

So alas, the famous color is Essie - Fear or Desire. A descendant from Essie's 2012 Summer Collection, this orange has an impeccable creamy consistency to it that allows it to glide onto your nails ever so smoothly. Apply two coats to get that gorgeous tangerine-y color and voila! You get results that are destination summer without a doubt.

I hope that you've all enjoyed this post and give this color a try. Thanks for reading!

Parisian Chic; Everything Sweet

Good morning lovely darlings! I hope all is well and your weekend was simply wonderful. So we went ahead and did some "blog remodeling"; we hope you all like it.

As inspired by our new background, I wanted to try some peachy pink, mint and gold tones on my nails for this week. I went ahead and used China Glaze - Re-fresh Mint on my thumb and middle finger, Orly - Cotton Candy on my index finger and pinky, then finally OPI's Liquid Sand in Honey Ryder on my ring finger. Each one of these colors is extremely easy to work with. They all cover the nail beautiful and you don't have to worry about to streaks. Even the OPI is great. I used two coats on each nail and then topped it off with my favorite nail product ever, Essie's Good To Go Top Coat.

I absolutely loved this combination! It's so happy, girly and chic. The perfect combination to spend an afternoon in Paris.

Let us know what you girls think of it!

Diamonds Are A Girl's Bestfriend

Good afternoon girls! I hope you've all been well and are as excited for this weekend as I am!

With summer's bold and bright colors, I decided to take a more neutral approach to my nails this week. With it being one of Summer 2013's shade, I wanted to go ahead and use a white nail polish. I also wanted something with some sort of texture to it and sparkle. The decision was simple. OPI's Liquid Sand color in Solitaire. I love this color so much! I think it's such a pretty combination of white, a little texture and needless to say, sparkle! Part of OPI's Bond Girls collection, this polish has a great consistency and it's very easy to work with. With two coats, it covers your nails entirely and it's not streaky.

Give this girl a chance and don't forget to add your own baubles for an endless summer of sprakle!

Thank you all for reading and I hope you've enjoyed this post!

My holy grail!

Good afternoon ladies and happy Tuesday! I hope that you've all been well since I've last written to you on here.

I wanted to write to you girls about something that is so extremely important to us. A vital piece of information that every nail polish lover must know! This is absolutely no joking matter. Have you ever been the type of girl that as soon as you walk out of the nail salon your nails are looking absolutely beautiful, you're in love with your new color choice, your cuticles are impeccable, and then...BAM! Opening your car door, your fingers rub against the inside of your door handle! Your new nail masterpieces look like an abstract painting more than your 10 second ago perfect nails. Don't let yourself be a victim of this torture! You NEED to get Essie's Good To Go dry fast top coat. This little treasure is my very best friend! Apply it once you've finished with you last coat of polish. Let it set for about two minutes and then you are literally, Good To Go!
Go on and give it a try. I promise you will not regret it.

Thank you all for reading and leave us your comments if you've tried this and your experience with it!

China Glaze - Happy Go Lucky

Second post today, hello again! It’s been a bit muggy, cloudy and rainy around here so I wanted to bring some sunshine my way. I used the super fun and cheery, China Glaze - Happy Go Lucky.

This is my absolute favorite yellow. There are a couple of others on the market but, I prefer this one so much more. This color is absolutely perfect for summer and it’s one that just makes you happy to look at. True to its name to its full potential. Easy to apply as well, I used two coats.

I hope you girls love this color as much as I do. It’s simply adorable. So, go on and give it a try. Let me know what you think.

Thank you all for reading, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post.

China Glaze - Salsa

Hi y’all! I hope you’ve all been great since our last post. Although, I haven’t really been able to upload any new post, I’ve kept up with our mani marathon! So, in light of that, today I will be posting twice!

To start, I have to admit, I’m experiencing two extreme emotions. One, relief and the other happiness. Now, I don’t know about how you girls are about finding the perfect shade of red nail polish but for me, this has been something that has taken some years. I can finally say that I have found just the perfect shade of red nail polish! China Glaze - Salsa is just wonderful. I love how this color looks on my skin tone, I love its opacity, and most of all, I love how easy it is to apply. I used two coats of polish and was free of streaks. Simply fabulous.

If you haven’t given this color a try I strongly suggest you do. It really is a beautiful shade of red.

Thank you all for reading, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post!

Essie - Picket Fence

Hello everyone and a happy Wednesday to you all! I hope that your week is going by nicely. As for me, I’m a little under the weather. Trying to get over it as soon as possible. Hopefully I’ll be as good as new soon.

Now for day 4 of our mani marathon, I wanted to go with something classic. There’s a certain aspect of classic-ness when you’re a little girl and you think about your life when you get older. At least for me, I thought about being married, having a family, a pretty house with a garden and… a white picket fence surrounding my home. So, in light of that, I used Essie - Picket Fence. Now let me tell you, this color is so darn perfect. It's not completely opaque, it does have some translucence to it. The good thing about this color is that, if you want to use it as an alone color you can, or you can also use it as a color for a french manicure. It's translucent enough that the white tip of the french shows.

I fully recommend this color to anyone that likes how it looks in the photograph. I used two coats.

I hope you’ve all enjoyed this post. Thank you all for reading.

Essie - 2013 Summer Collection

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that the week ahead is pleasant and quick. On this third day of our Mini Mani Marathon, I wanted to go ahead and introduce Essie’s new 2013 Summer Collection. A variation of six colors all with maritime themed names. So sit back and relax and enjoy your passage to paradise as we sail into these beautiful summer colors!

 Naughty Nautical
So beginning with the color for which the collection is named after, Naughty Nautical is the most beautiful blue-green teal on the market! It has a soft shimmer throughout the polish that adds just the perfect touch of vibrant color and soft sparkle. This color truly is spectacular and is going to be a part of my collection for sure. I love it! It has a nice thick consistency so it covers really well. I used two coats in the picture below.

The More The Merrier
Next up, we have The More The Merrier. How fun is this juicy lime green?!? I really makes me want to just take a bite out of it of how yummy it looks! Pair it with your favorite bikinis, sarongs and flip flops because this color is a total hit! I absolutely love it! Another great one with amazing consistency, rich and creamy and a non-streaker (hehe). Perfection in a bottle! Two coats of polish were used in the below picture.

Sunday Funday
Fun and risky just like the perfect summer cocktail! There’s no doubt that every will be a fun day indeed with this little tangerine crush coral polish. Sunday Funday has the lightest bit of shimmer included just like Naughty Nautical. However, the shimmer does not alter the polish color or consistency at all. On the contrary, I think it makes it even more beautiful if that is even possible. This color should be a part of everyone’s summer essentials! I used two coats in the picture below.

Full Steam Ahead
Some might say, “Oh look another purple”, but you know what, these purple colors are always in style and they go so well with many colors. So in a way I am happy that new purples are always filtering through the market. Full Steam Ahead is such a pretty light shimmery lilac that goes well with a bright, vibrant set of clothes or with a classic LBD. It’s adorable. Covers well as well. I used two coats in the picture below.

The Girls Are Out
This color is a beauty! Aside from being one of the most popular colors for this upcoming season, it’s simply gorgeous! With it’s funny name (that can mean a couple of different things, teehee) The Girls Are Out is the perfect fuchsia with the most subtle shimmer. This color goes well with the others in the collection as well so you can make your own nail art designs and it’ll all go perfectly together. The consistency again, just like the other colors in the collection, is as opaque as the next one. I used two coats in the picture below.

Rock The Boat
This periwinkle powder blue gives you the impression that you’re looking into the skies infinite distance while relaxing, laying on a hammock. You cannot go wrong Rock The Boat and its shimmer during summer, they’re the perfect combination. Although light, it’s also non-streaky and provides an even coat of polish when applied. I used two coats of it.

Overall, I found this collection to be absolutely perfect in all sense of the word. It truly has the most perfect summer colors. I'm so happy that you and I will be enjoying these this season.

I hope you've all enjoyed this post, thank you all for reading!

China Glaze - Dance Baby

Hi everyone! So it’s day two of our mini mani marathon and I had posted a picture on our Instagram with five different colors on my nails and many of you commented on which you thought was the prettiest. Thank you so much for commenting! I went ahead and chose China Glaze - Dance Baby which was the color used on my thumb. This polish was a complete surprise. I honestly did not think that it was going to be this nice when I used it. Boy was I wrong! It’s such a fun and flirty pink that instantly makes you want to smile when you look at it. It’s not streaky at all and it provides some really nice coverage.

I know there are a lot of pinks out on the market but I really like this one. I think it’s perfect for summer and I’m really happy I gave it a try.

Thank you all for reading, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! Until tomorrow!
