Essie - 2013 Neon Collection

Well, well, well, look at what collection came back around… The very popular neon collection is one that many fans look forward to each year. Last year, only four colors were released as many of you may remember, the Poppy-razzi collection. This year, Essie decided to kick it up a notch and release six colors. All different, all unique. This neon collection is a winner in my book any day of the week. I applied all color with Essie Blanc underneath so that the neon-ness effect of the polishes can really stand out.

DJ Play That Song
So starting off with the color for which the collection was named after, DJ Play That Song is a funky purple worthy of a fun night out. Hot summer nights are a callin’ so go for this purple, it’s a great choice!

Bouncer It’s Me
This name is so funny. I think that it’s such a common thing that’s said when going out to a club and trying to make it inside the quickest. This bright blue is so popular and with reason! Bouncer It’s Me is such a gorgeous color.

Bottle Service
This is one of my favorites in the collection. Bottle Service is an insanely vivid and fun fuchsia that will definitely be a part of my collection. Score the best table with the best service with this color!

Shake Your $$ Maker
With every club comes music, with music comes dancing and with dancing comes plenty of booty shaking! Enjoy the beats of your favorite songs and dance the night away with this electric green!

Saturday Disco Fever
There’s no question that you’ll be Stayin’ Alive with this fiery coral during your night out on the town. Feel that temperature rising? It’s Saturday Disco Fever!

Boom Boom Room
Ahh! So in love with this ultra bright pink! It’s just the perfect combination, I can’t even put it into words how much I adore this pink. Working for a color that’s sure to take you to party paradise? This one is just the ticket!

I hope you’ve all enjoyed this collection and this post! Thank you all for reading!

OPI - Bond Girls Collection

Hi girls! Hope you are all having a nice Thursday. I’d like to take a moment and send my condolences to everyone in Boston and in Texas that have been a victim of the recent tragic occurrences. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones.

Today I will be reviewing the newest Bond Girl Liquid Sand collection released by OPI. Comprised completely of your favorite Bond girls, these polishes are as seductive and mysterious as the world’s favorite spy. Six colors, six different shades. Hope you enjoy!

This pretty color has a white base with a bit of silver glitter and it almost gives you the impression that you’re looking at a jewelry chest full of diamonds. With two coats, it covers nicely the entire nail.

Pussy Galore
This light pretty pink looks sweet and innocent but don’t let it fool you, it’s as naughty as its name. Has a frosty appearance to it and what’s even better is that it’s non-streaky at all. Purrfect!

Tiffany Case
Such a nice blue! This color is one that I see myself using during the summer. It’s icy complexion and the little bit of silver glitter contained in its formula give it the ability to cause extra shine.

Honey Ryder
Honey Ryder is one of the most beautiful gold colors I’ve seen in the market! It’s a sandy gold color and what was most surprising that even though yes, it does have a certain metallic quality about it, it covers the nail beautifully. You can get away with using just one coat. It’s that great!

Love at first sight! One of my favorite Bond girls, Jinx is a beautiful coral orange-red has the perfect size and amount of gold glitter throughout. It was very easy to apply and like all of the other colors in this collection, it covered completely. This one as well as Tiffany Case will be in my summer go-to list for sure!

Elegant, mysterious, sexy and seductive? Check, check, check, check! Vesper is all of the above and more! Another favorite of mine in the collection. The bottle gives the appearance that the color is sort of a brown color but, when you apply your first coat, it's actually a gorgeous dark purple. The black shimmer it has throughout gives it a nice complexion and helps add sparkle to the darkness of the polish. Going to an event in a casino in say… Monte Carlo? Vesper is your polish!

Overall I was very happy and excited with all of the colors in this collection. I think they’re all wonderful and embarrassingly I admit, I will keep one of each. Oh well, you can never have too much nail polish, right? Teehee!

Thank you all for reading!

Essie - Bachelorette Bash

Hi girls! I hope that everyone is having a nice Monday so far. I spent the weekend relaxing and organizing all the new things that we’ll be releasing in the coming month, as well as a list of colors that I will be reviewing and posting. As for today though, I wanted to go with a color that was in the pink family as it is my favorite color and it makes me happy to look at. I went with a stronger hue of pink, one of which I usually save for summer, but who says repeating a color is a nail polish faux pas, right? Today’s choice is Essie Bachelorette Bash

Like any good and fun girly party, pink is one that comes with the territory. This sassy and flirty hot pink is one that will combine perfectly with your spring and summer attire. In spring, pair with a softer color to balance out it’s vibrant quality. In summer, pair it with your favorite orange, turquoise or yellow or all of the above! I think this color is a positive addition to any nail polish lovers collection. So, go on and give it a try darlings! Let me know what you think!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame :)

Bonjour ma belle fleurs! I hope that the week has been treating you well so far and the weekend is quick in its arrival. I was going back and forth since the last post on which color I wanted to use for this week but I found myself in a rut. So lastnight, sitting on the couch next to my dad while he watched a ball game, it dawned on me. Baseball season was back and what better occasion to do a baseball inspired mani than now! Now normally I don’t use dark colors until the middle to end of September but being that my favorite sport has just begun, I said “Why not?”

Although I am a Miami native, my favorite team is the New York Yankees. I went ahead and used China Glaze First Mate, which I just so happen to think is the most perfect navy blue. For the base of the baseball I used China Glaze White On White and for the stitchings, Essie First Dance. Then to make it a tad bit more sparkly and fun, I used Color Club Starry Temptress for a little glitter.

Needless to say, I was very happy with the outcome of this manicure and I’m even happier that my skill with the nail art brushes is improving. God knows I’ve practiced. Haha!

Thank you all for reading & I hope you’ve enjoyed this post!

Essie - Cute As A Button

Hello darlings and happy Monday! I hope that everyone has had a safe and fun weekend, I know I did. You know those weekends that are jam packed with activities and events but come Sunday night, you’re not exhausted? But then again, others that are pretty much laid back and relaxed, you find yourself feeling like a couch potato Sunday night rather than relaxed & rejuvenated? Funny, huh?

So during my busy weekend, I was able to find time to do my nails a color I haven’t done since last summer. I’ve been all into the new vibrant shades of pinks, oranges and reds that are being found in the beauty aisles of your go to makeup heavens, so I decided to go with Essie - Cute as a Button. This crazy, fun, girly Barbie pink is one you’ll fall in love with within an instant. It’s bold firecracker pink shade is one that can be shared with your lip color and your nails at the same time for a fun combo. And also, paired with a lighter shade and another bold shade for nail art, it becomes an irresistible color palette on your very own nails. I used Essie - Van D'Go as a base and used Essie - Tart Deco for the polka dots on my accent nail.

I hope you’ve all enjoyed this post. Thank you for reading.

Essie - Carousel Coral

Hey y'all! Happy Thursday! The week is nearly over and the weekend is almost here! I know that I've mentioned time and time again that I love the spring time and its colors but I'm going to go ahead and revisit that statement. I LOVE spring so much!

For today’s nail polish color, I chose one that isn’t very popular among the crowds and to be quite honest, I’m not sure why. Essie Carousel Coral is absolutely adorable! I think that paired with turquoise or a light orange, it would make a great combination. Even a peachy nude color will look super cute with it. I’m a big fan of these certain hues because I know that some colors can be unflattering for some skin types but I feel that everyone can benefit from certain pinks and corals. A warm hue and a smile on your beautiful face can give anyone a great complexion. ;)

I hope that everyone has enjoyed this post and I do really urge you to try this color out. Let me know what you think of it. Thank you all for reading!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Essie - 2013 Resort Collection

Good afternoon all! I apologize for disappearing for a few but I’m back and full of great, new ideas! As we enter the seasons of bold, vibrant, colorful colors, our nail polish shades also begin to transform. With this being said, Essie’s 2013 Resort Collection hits the nail on the head once again. One of my favorite Essie collections by far, all different colors but all perfect for anyone, for any occasion, and… any outfit.

In The Cab-ana
First up comes the most beautiful blue you’ve ever seen and for which the collection was named after, In The Cab-ana. This is such a happy blue which just inspires you to hit the beach or the pool and rock it with your favorite bikini! How fun is that? As beautiful as the sky and the ocean, this color is a complete success! I used two coats and it covered and applied easily. Pure perfection!

Under Where?
This cute island-y lilac is a beauty. Although the selection of purple colors out there is vast, this is a great shade to have in your collection. Not to mention the name is simply cute. Simple and girly but fun at the same time. Two coats applied and loved it!

Come Here!
As demanding as the name sounds, Come Here! is a color which nobody would mind having on their nails and tootsies! This vibrant tomato red is just so fun and summery and makes me want to order a tropical drink and sip up somewhere in paradise. Although the pictures don’t do it justice it all, this shade isn’t like any other. Similar to others yes, but identical no. I think everyone should give this color a try just because it suits all skin tones and it’s a perfect color for the current and upcoming season.

First Timer
Talk about a FUN green ladies! In my personal opinion, I’m not a very big fan of green. However, I had to hold my tongue when I saw this little lucky charm. Charming indeed, and ever so slightly feminine and festive. This spring green rises perfectly to the occasion and is an eye catcher of any passerby. You want fun and different? Give this treasure a try. You won’t regret it!

Thank you all again for reading our posts, we hope you enjoy reading them as much as we enjoy writing them.

All our love,
